Our farm offers fantastic hiking routes for those who love the outdoors. You can explore our pristine landscapes, lush meadows, and maybe even spot some local wildlife. On our farm, our waterfall is a hidden gem that truly comes to life when the rain graces us with its presence. If you visit during or after rainfall, you’ll witness a breathtaking transformation.We are also proud to share that we’re home to the second-largest cave in the Free State. If you’re a fan of adventures and geological marvels, you’re in for a treat!
Comfortable Farm Guest Houses
Bring your family along! We have cozy guest houses where you can relax and enjoy the serenity of our farm. Our accommodations are designed to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
A Typical Day of Soap Coaching on the Farm:
Morning Session (Approximately 2 hours)
1. Soap Making Basics: We kick off the day by delving into the fundamentals of soap making. You’ll learn about the different soap-making methods, from cold process to hot process, and the science behind soap saponification.
2. Safety Measures: Safety is our top priority. We’ll go over essential safety guidelines, such as handling lye, proper ventilation, and protective gear.
3. Ingredients and Tools: We’ll discuss the various ingredients used in soap making, from oils and fats to fragrances and colorants. You’ll also get to know the essential tools required for the process.
Midday (Lunch Break)
4. Homemade Lunch: It’s time for a well-deserved lunch break. You’ll enjoy a homemade lunch prepared by us. It’s a chance to relax, chat, and refuel for the afternoon session.
Afternoon session:
5. Soap Preparation: In the afternoon, we dive into the practical aspects of soap making. This includes preparing your soap recipe, selecting and measuring oils and fats, and deciding on fragrances and additives.
6. Soap-Making Process: We guide you through the entire soap-making process, from mixing the ingredients to pouring the soap into molds. You’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on experience and create your own soap.
7. Decorating: We explore creative soap decoration techniques. You can let your imagination go wild with design, colors, and patterns.
8. Troubleshooting: No soap-making session is complete without addressing common issues and how to troubleshoot them. We’ll equip you with the knowledge to handle challenges that may arise.
Bonus:
1. Homemade Yoghurt Recipe: As a special bonus, you’ll receive a simple homemade yoghurt recipe. This yoghurt can be used as an ingredient in your soap, and it’s a healthy treat you can enjoy at home.
2. Gift Box: To make your day even more memorable, you’ll receive a gift box to take home, filled with handmade soap and other delightful surprises.
